More Info

Saluzzo looks like a typically fourteenth-century hilltop village: with its small cobbled streets, churches and elegant noble palaces. The territory of Saluzzo is included in the Monviso Transfrontier Biosphere Reserve, between Italy and France.

Saluzzo, city of music, has a huge historical center.

Of notable interest in the inhabited center are the Cathedral, the Castile, seat of the Historical Archive, with the new multimedia installations of the Prison Memory and of Knightly Civilization, Casa Cavassa and the Church of San Giovanni.

Inside the ancient Monastery of the Annunziata, in the heart of the historic center, there is the “School of Higher Music Perfection” Foundation.

Villa Bricherasio houses an immense Botanical Garden, open from Tuesday to Sunday.

Just outside the town you can visit the Abbey of Staffarda and the Castle of Manta.

Finally, do not miss the visit of the birthplace of Silvio Pellico, which has obtained the title of Museum.

Saluzzo has numerous trekking and MTB routes: among these the routes ofVéloviso, which unite Piedmont with the French Hautes Alpes; or “Saluzzese by bike”; the “Passeggiata del Marchese” is instead ideal for fitwalking and hiking enthusiasts.

In the City of Music, in July of each year the “Marchesato Opera Festival” is organized, a week of concerts and thematic events involving various spaces in the historic center including the Museums which for the occasion also offer evening visits and special animations.
