More Info

Schio welcomes you with a landscape of green hills and an amphitheater made up of the peaks of the Small Dolomites, a rich industrial archaeological heritage, with unique buildings such as the Alta Fabbrica, the Conte Wool Mill, the Jacquard Garden, the Weaver Monument which represent only some of the riches of an industrial past that made Schio known as the “Manchester of Italy”, for a textile production of national and international importance.

Next to these buildings of industrial archeology along the streets and squares of the city are the numerous historic buildings, the working-class district of the “Nuova Schio”, the Civic Theater, the Cathedral of San Pietro, the Church of Santa Bakhita and in the green area next to the historic center the church of San Francesco, a religious building of considerable value.

Every year on a specific weekend in October Schio takes on the colors of the Union Jack and transforms itself into a cosmopolitan, rich, crowded and fun England.
Typical games, popular dances, theatricals, populate the streets entertaining citizens and strangers in entertaining shows and activities.
