More Info
The Arda Valley presents itself as a mainly hilly valley, a typical feature of the Piacenza Hills. Indeed, it is an area particularly prized for its landscapes, often chosen as subjects by photography enthusiasts.
But this valley is not only nature and landscapes. It is home to the most beautiful castles in the entire province, with tall towers that can provide breathtaking views.
A locality particularly rich in history and interesting for its geological formations dating back to the Piacenziano, a geological period named after the province of Piacenza. Interesting to hike among the fossils of the Stirone and Piacenziano Regional Park.
Sights to see: the Church of St. Zenone, the Gandolfi Palace (municipal headquarters), the Oratory of the Annunziata, the Oratory of the Blessed Virgin of the Piano, and the Placentian Geological Nature Reserve.
Lugagnano doughnuts are the local specialty to be paired with the typical malvasia.
At the end of October, the traditional “Cold Fair” is held, with stands of chestnuts and typical products.
