More Info

Agnone, the largest town in upper Molise, is known for the manufacture of bells and the production of extraordinary cheeses, as well as for the Ndocciata, the largest fire ritual in the world.

The churches, from the Romanesque-Gothic period, are certainly worth a visit, if only for the fact that they preserve important works by artists such as Monteverde, Duprè, Gamba and Colombo. Palazzo Nuonno, dating back to the 13th century, is also very beautiful, with its clearly Venetian lions, but also the gates of the old city and the historic artisan shops, which make it an open-air museum.

But what makes this village famous all over the world is the “Museum of the bells of Agnone”, which is accompanied by the Pontifical Foundry of Campane Marinelli, which still today produces its own bells with the technique used since medieval times.

Another pearl of this village is the “Copper Museum of Agnone”.
