More Info
Tarcento lies on the slopes of the Chiampeon, Stella and Bernadia mountains and is characterized by the splendid variety of its environment and its function as a hinge between the upper Torre Valley and the foothills of the Julian Pre-Alps.
Among its streets with Art Nouveau villas, one relives the Belle Epoque, and then enjoys the suspended atmospheres of the charming promenade beside the Torre stream.
Not to be missed on January 5 and 6 each year is the Friulian Epiphany, which takes place amid fiery wagon races and large propitiatory bonfires: the pignarûi.
Not far from here the spectacular Villanova Caves among stalagmites and underground lakes are worth a visit, from March until September.
While on Mount Bernadia, overlooking Tarcento, you can take pleasant hikes and discover a blockhouse used during wartime conflicts.
Instead, the Great Bavarian Beer Festival is held in September.
